What exciting things will you be bringing to the Local Treasures one day market February 25?
My designs focus on keeping the past in the present. I use elements and materials that date back from the 18th century to present day. I incorporate antique keyholes, escutcheons, skeleton keys along with vintage brooches, and other materials to re-purpose them into lovely wearable art. My accessories are almost always one of a kind, and I have also begun to make charms and chains from melted down 100 year old brasses and inks Very unique stuff.

What inspires you to make what you make?
Nostalgia, Nature and Love! I used to pore over photographs of my Grandmother's past, and I was enchanted by the styles of clothing and way of life, even from an early age. I never lost that tie to the past. I even incorporate some buttons from her dresses into my locket designs. Many people bring me keepsakes, like keys or buttons to make customized pieces that they can wear to remember the past or a loved one.

What is your most treasured art, craft, or design tool and why?
My most treasured pieces are the ones made with something that has meaning. (keys to a loved ones home from 100 years ago, or the keyhole, buttons from dresses) but I also enjoy the mystery of antique pieces from places I have never even been to (castles in Ireland, etc). I need every single tool I use! Can't pick a favorite.

Spring is such a beautiful season in the south. What do you look forward to each spring?
Spring is my favorite season, so I look forward to the new colors and smells and sights that seem to wake the earth up, again. I am an outdoors girl, so I look forward to dinner from the grill, running around with the kids in the backyard. Everything about Spring excites me.

Tennis shoes, sandals, flip flips or barefoot?
Flip flops!
